Our Save The Date Video

Within a couple of months of getting engaged, we made a few huge decisions in our wedding planning process. One of those decisions was booking high-demand vendors. Almost immediately we put down deposits with any vendors we were 100% sure we wanted to have a part of our wedding day. The last thing I wanted was to fall in love with a vendor and for them to already be booked on our date.

Finding vendors we loved was fairly easy between Google, Pinterest, Instagram, magazines, and websites – but our videographer was not one that we found on our own. HUGE wedding planning tip here: one of the best places to look for vendors is through other vendors you have booked. They work with these people all the time and can seriously help steer you in the right direction.

Whenever we called to pay the deposit on our venue we asked the venue coordinator if she had any videography recommendations. She had just received a video that morning from a company called Lonely Eskimo Productions from a beautiful multi-cultural wedding recently held there. She forwarded the video along to us and as soon as I finished watching it, I knew I wanted Lonely Eskimo to be a part of our wedding day.

Once we received information on the different packages offered and chose the one we knew would best suit our needs, I noticed that a save the date film was included. This was something I had never heard of, but I liked the sound of it.

We made a trip down to Louisiana in November to shoot our save the date film. I could not be more in love with how it came out. We actually got lucky and were able to shoot at our wedding venue so here’s a sneak peek of that too!

Jorge from Lonely Eskimo has been a joy to work with so far and I cannot wait to have them be a part of our big day. I know they are going to capture it beautifully.  If you or anyone you know is getting married soon, I highly recommend checking them out. Jeremy and I are having our wedding in Louisiana, but I know they are available for travel too!

I wanted to look like myself for our shoot. I did not want to wear clothes that I wouldn’t typically buy or style my hair or makeup differently. Overall, this is my everyday hair and makeup look. Here are links to shop the dresses and shoes I wore for our video shoot.

Gianni Bini Liv Lace Black and White Dress : I’m obsessed with this black and white dress from Gianni Bini. Literally one of my favorite dresses in my closet. I love the long bell sleeves and the high neck.

BCBG Black Lace Dress : This is the only place I could find this dress online and they only have one size left. BCBG dresses always fit so well and are so flattering.

Jenny Yoo Annabelle Convertible Tulle Gown : I really wanted a flowy formal dress to wear for our shoot. I also love any excuse to see my fiancé in a suit. Jenny Yoo is a popular bridesmaids dress designer and I think this would be stunning for bridesmaids at a formal wedding.

Steve Madden Black Booties : I wear these booties almost every single day. They are extremely comfortable for heeled booties and great to transition day to night.

We will still be sending out traditional save the dates via mail, but this was a such a fun way to announce our wedding date through email and social media!
