Something that you may not know about me is that I am a freelance hair and makeup artist here in Nashville. I recently did the makeup for one of my best friends on the set of her very first music video shoot – AND it just debuted on Valentine’s Day on CMT! I’ve known her for years and it’s been so fun to see Hannah’s career grow. “ILY So What” is a JAM and she looks like a total babe in the video. I mean, doing her makeup was great, but my personal favorite moment of the day was our pepperoni pizza cheers (see 1:25 – yes, it made the video).

If you wanna get Hannah’s look, keep on reading! Here is what you’ll need:

Keep in mind that this makeup look was for a music video and it is full glam. There is typically a difference whenever you’re creating a makeup look for TV compared to your everyday makeup routine.

I started by prepping Hannah’s skin with Dr. Jart’s Water Drop Moisturizer. I love the texture of this product. It keeps the skin moisturized without being greasy at all. I followed it up with my favorite primer by Hourglass. This stuff is a MUST-HAVE. I have been using it off and on for a few years and it is incredible. I prefer prepping the skin, creating the eye look, skin, and finishing off with lips. By doing the eyes before the skin, you don’t have to worry about fallout from your eyeshadow ruining your foundation.

I completely covered Hannah’s eyelid with a concealer to have a blank canvas to work with. I created a rose gold and brown smokey eye using my Viseart and LORAC eyeshadow palettes. Then, I drew a thin line across her upper lash line using a black liquid liner. On Hannah’s lower lash line I used a black pencil eyeliner and smudged it with a medium brown eyeshadow to make it less harsh. Using a light pink eyeliner, I filled in her waterline to make her eyes appear larger. Then, I added a coat of mascara to both her upper and lower lash lines. I finished off her eyes with a pair of Ardell false lashes. Obviously this makes the eyes POP.

I started the skin by bouncing a full-coverage foundation all over using a BeautyBlender. Next, I went in with concealer. Underneath the eyes I used a mixture of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin and Bye Bye Under Eye. To hide any imperfections in the skin I used Full Cover. I set the under eye area with Laura Mercier’s translucent powder to minimize any creasing from the concealing.

There isn’t much that I love more than a good contour. Chanel’s cream bronzer blends like a dream. Yes, this is a splurge, but it is so worth it. I set the cream bronzer with a powder bronzer to help keep it in place and darken the color a bit. For her cheeks I mixed both the baby pink and rose shades from my Anastasia blush trio. To complete the skin I used a golden pink highlighter on top of her cheekbones and down the center of the face. This is when I prefer to fill in the brows. Hannah has a great brow shape to start with so I just used a dark brown shade to lightly fill in any sparse areas.

Almost done. It’s time for the lips! We wanted this look to have a soft romantic feel, but Hannah also loves a dark lip – so we met in the middle with this rosy shade. Using a soft burgundy liner I filled in and lined her lips. I applied a similar shade of lipstick over the top of that. I finished off her lips with one of my favorite Buxom glosses.

Spritz the face with a setting spray and voilà! The look is complete!
