FEELING SO LOVED.
Looking back at these photos from our engagement party in August brings back the best feelings. This was such a fun night for Jeremy and I to celebrate our engagement with friends and family. My mom planned every detail out so perfectly. She kept almost everything a secret from us so Jeremy and I would be surprised when we saw it all together for the first time.
Shout-out to our friends and family that attended and to each of the vendors that made our engagement party such an incredible night. (links are below)
Invitations – I heard about Postable from a friend and am so thankful they shared it with me. Essentially, you have your guests add their addresses into your Postable address book themselves by sending a link via text message or email. It saved me a ton of time when collecting addresses. My mom had a very specific idea in mind for the invites and designed them herself, imported the design into Postable, and then used the address book to send the invites. They have templates available too. So easy!
Venue – A sweet family friend offered to host the party at their beautiful house. They have a Jack Daniels room that was an addition to their home and is the perfect place to throw a party.
Decor – My mom knew the party space had a rustic feel and that we were not going that direction for the decor of our wedding. She decided it would be fun to go with a shabby-chic theme for our engagement party! There were TONS of framed pictures of Jeremy and I placed throughout. Banners were hanging everywhere and everything was personalized from the welcome sign out front to the napkins by the bar. Most of the personalized decor was from Etsy and other items were purchased at Hobby Lobby and Home Goods.
Food and Drinks – We are obsessed with Italian food and Maggiano’s is a favorite. They catered my birthday party here in Nashville a few years ago and my mother knew she wanted to hire them for the engagement party. Spaghetti, stuffed mushrooms, chicken piccata, and more! We had beer on tap (Yuengling is Jeremy’s favorite), wine, champagne, and punch. A little bit of everything is always a great way to make sure each guest will find something to enjoy. Of course, every great party has dessert. My mom ordered this chocolate and vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream from Pink Blossom Bakery. It was absolutely delicious!
Photo Booth – I was obsessed with this photo backdrop. My mom ordered these paper flowers from BackdropInABox. They were so beautiful and matched the invitation design. She rented a fabric backdrop from Southern Events to attach the flowers and “engaged” banner to. Photo booths are always a hit! I literally never have a party without some sort of photo booth situation. All you need is a banner or backdrop, a ring light, and an iPhone to snap some pics!
My Outfit – I bought this cute white dress at the BCBG in Orlando over the summer. It’s super flattering and more than 60% off now – it’s also available in pink! I can’t find my favorite nude pumps anywhere online (I’ve owned them for years), but these Sam Edelman’s are almost identical.
Photos – My sweet friend, Mackenzie Meyer, took all these incredible pictures. It was so nice to know that someone was running around snapping images of the whole evening. We didn’t have to stress about who got photos of what because Mackenzie had it covered. She’s based out of Central Florida and is amazing – highly recommended.
Basically, we could not have had a better time celebrating our engagement with everyone we love. Our families did such an incredible job throwing this beautiful party and we are so thankful!
xo, Nicole
