Obviously, you could always just call and ask, “Hey, will you be in my wedding?” – BUT what fun is that?
I wanted my bridesmaid proposal boxes to give a taste of our wedding and I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to tell my girls it was going to be in Louisiana! I hope this gives you some ideas on how to put your bridesmaid proposal together.
Handwritten cards. It’s a sweet way to tell your friend why you want her standing next to you on your special day. Cards are something you can get really creative with! I had these custom hand-painted cards made with our wedding location on them, but for any budget-friendly bride, you could make DIY cards.
Something with their name on it. I am a coffee addict. This means that I have an extensive coffee mug collection and never stop adding to it. I found plain white mugs and had each bridesmaid’s name put on them with the state of Louisiana behind it. I actually had one made for myself too!
Themed things. I had to throw a few of my Louisiana favorites into the box. I ordered chicory coffee from Community Coffee to go with the coffee mugs. I also bought boxes of Zatarain’s Cajun food mixes and Tabasco hot sauce. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without pralines, so I ordered a couple of cases on Amazon to put in there as well. Then, I topped it off with Mardi Gras beads!
Obviously, the boxes themselves. I looked EVERYWHERE to find the perfect boxes. I had a hard time finding anything cute, but still big enough to fit everything inside. I also needed seven boxes which was a challenge of its own. After going to Target, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Home Goods, and more, I ended up at World Market. I found three at the location I went to and called around to the others in Nashville to find the rest of the boxes I needed. They are currently sold out online, but I found some that look identical on Amazon. The filling is white and gold craft paper from Michael’s.
I hope this inspires you and gives you a few creative ideas for making a personalized bridesmaid proposal that is perfect for you! I had the best time making these for my girlfriends and cannot wait to see what you come up with. Be sure to tag me on Insta (@nicolenotrichie) so I can take a peek at what you create!
